- The Yogis tell us to breath through the right nostril only. To do this, simply block the left nostril by pushing it closed with a finger, then breath long and deep through the right side. You can continue for 5 minutes or up to 31 minutes.
- Add powered ginger to your food, both cooked and used like you would salt. Ginger has powerful properties to generate heat. It can even be used with red pepper and put in your socks to keep you feet warm. Be careful to not use too much. . . it really works. Fresh ginger can be added to cooked food and used to make ginger tea with lemon.
- Walk! Yes walking is the most marvelous activity to keep us healthy providing many benefits to the heart, digestion, and helping to keep our mental capacities clear.
- Eat a warm hearty breakfast. Here is our recipe for Yogi Porridge.
Begin by adding oat flakes, slivered almonds, cinnamon powder, and rasped coconut to the water. For the last 2-3 minutes add thinly sliced apple. Serve with maple syrup and yogurt. Some people like to add raisins but it can make it too sweet. Of course you can adjust the recipe to suit your individual taste.
